Egypt Falls is a broad Cape Breton waterfall reached by a short but demanding descent. The name can be confusing: the local tourism guide identifies the approach as the MacFarlane Brook Trail, rather than a route following nearby Egypt Brook.

Planning your visit
Destination Cape Breton lists 900 metres each way and a moderate-to-difficult rating. The descent includes stairs and guide ropes, so save energy for the climb back. Follow the signed route and respect any landowner notices or closures.
Our take
Choose this for a more physical waterfall walk, not because the distance looks short. The return ascent is an essential part of the plan.
