Wapta Falls

Wapta offers a forest approach to the Kicking Horse River’s broad waterfall. It works well as a dedicated walk at Yoho’s western end.

Planning your visit

The access turn is available to eastbound Highway 1 traffic only. Westbound visitors must use the signed turnaround route described by Parks Canada. Check road opening and the current trail description before visiting.

Our take

Allow time for the walk and return; this is not simply a pullout beside the highway.
